1.       Agentless Architecture. Traditional backup and recovery services put agents onto the servers and valuable processing powers is consumed by these agents. CRE’s Backup and Recovery services do not use agents! Agents pose a major security risk because they require an open port on the firewall. The agentless design of CRE’s solution removes this risk.

 •All backup data is aggregated, allowing for immediate recovery - traditional backup solutions are not centralized and lead to difficulties in obtaining and providing records to auditors in a timely manner.

 •Backup data is automatically & securely transferred offsite using FIPS 140-2 certified encryption technology via private or public cloud – traditional backup architecture requires additional 3rd party products or manual involvement when transferring data offsite on disk or tape and is thus not secure or reliable.

5.       Backwards Compatible. You can choose from encryption options that range from DES 56-bit with an 8-character key, to AES 256-bit with a 32-character key. CRE maintains backward compatibility of its software so that even now, users can still access and retrieve data encrypted with DES 56-bit encryption years ago.

6.       Continuous Data Protection. You want your data to be protected as soon as it is in its final state. Continuous Data Protection (CDP) refers to data automatically protected whenever a change is made to that data (asynchronous backup). Therefore, CDP enables data copies almost in real-time capturing every version of the data whenever the customer saves it. It allows your customers' data to be restored to any point in time.

CRE’s agentless CDP feature allows unlimited granularity since you can have your data recovered from an infinite number of recovery point objectives (RPO). CDP protected files are protected whenever they are saved to disk by you in your source computers. CDP also continuously monitors the changes on the specified target files and backs up the changes as soon as they are detected. CRE’s CDP can be applied to file systems and email backup sets to improve recovery SLA of critical data.

·         Increase SLA compliance. CDP provides you with the peace of mind that the latest version of critical data has been backed up and is available to be recovered.

·         Traditional backups can only restore data to the point at which the backup was taken. With CDP, there are no backup schedules. When protected data is saved to disk, it is also asynchronously written to CRE’s storage repository. CDP keeps not only the latest saved version of protected data but also keeps track of the previous versions allowing data recovery from a wider point in time range.

·         Immediate protection of critical data. Once protected data is saved to disk, it is backed up locally (if local storage is available) and simultaneously is sent encrypted over the WAN to be stored offsite to CRE’s storage repository. Backup window and recovery time objectives (RTOs) are reduced to zero.
